Going through the same questions with my fantasy tale. Today I tried BeyondWords and couldn’t get the free demo to work. “Paragraphs too long” etc. So I tried doing my own reading. Unlike you I think my voice could do a credible job -- not professional, but decent enough, and yes, I know how to speak publicly and enunciate my own words correctly. Then the ambulance sound hit from outside, and I had to stop. Whaddya mean I can’t continue?! I have to start over?!
And I’ve no idea if my audience will demand it. Discouraging first attempt.
Have you discovered Ben Woestenberg? He also writes fiction and he is reading one of his serials while on video. And that ambulance sound is probably why I see a lot of disclaimers on people’s posts that have audio in them.
