Polls for You Plus What Happened in February
(aka the February Monthly Digest for The Môrdreigiau Chronicles)
The next few months promise to be a bit quiet, what with books in edit mode, some behind the scenes prop making (that, honestly, I never film because it’s too much effort to remember to stay in the camera frame and the video footage basically is unusable) and so on.
No surprise, this email might be a bit long for your email inbox if that’s how you receive these (because you might be using the Substack app instead). If you don’t see the “New to The Môrdreigiau Chronicles” section at the foot of this email, there’s a “View in Browser” link at the top of this email.
I’d love your feedback on two three things!
First, I am in edits on A Sword for Wellington, and as you know, Eidothea has been swinging a bit wildly between Jasper and Llyr as her primary love interest. Things took a turn in this first draft of A Sword for Wellington, but it’s not yet an unchangeable feast. So are you Team Jasper or Team Llyr?
The poll is up for three days so get in quickly!
Second, what sort of behind the scenes topics would you like to see? Do you have a burning dreigiau môr question? I keep a list but none of them are shimmering. I do have at least two that need to wait on my publishing Obsidian and Flame. Let me know in the comments or by replying to this email!
Fiction Released
A River Trembles
I forgot to include Chapter 23 in last month’s digest, so if you’re using these digests to read chunks of The Môrdreigiau Chronicles, here’s the link.
Non-Fiction (Behind the Curtain)
What’s Ahead in March?
A River Trembles will continue to be released on Saturdays at 7:00 a.m. (Australian time). I don’t have any Behind the Curtain posts planned for March, but I’d love to know if there’s anything about the dreigiau môr universe you’d like better explained? I’ve touched on food … maybe the torcs they wear? The whole robes are their skin thing? What has made you go huh? Let me know in the comments or email/message me.
I will be doing a combat one once Obsidian and Flame comes out but that won’t be until May.
Why the dearth of such non-fiction posts? I am in editing mode for both A Sword for Wellington (book 3) and Obsidian and Flame and beginning to think about book 4, A Soul for the World.
Other things in my brain include:
a bonus scene for Rhiannon and Emrys from A River Trembles,
a short story or novella for Eidothea’s romantic relationship(s) set post-A Sword for Wellington that will probably involve some sort of library heist, and,
starting to plan for season two of Hiraeth as the first drafts of the other two serials are finished. (Or instead, start seriously working on the Arthurian serial that nibbles on my ear at times.) Oh is it time for another poll?
There is no “both” option. I already know I can’t do both. I appreciate both you and your feedback!
