Great job on the dolls house! My dad made me one when I was a kid, and my mother decorated it. I remember it had a loo, with the toilet and maybe a bath. I really regret it was ever given away. I don't know if you're familiar with silent film actress Colleen Moore's Fairy Castle. I have a great book on that one - the interiors seem a bit influenced by the kinds of sets you'd see in a Douglas Fairbanks film! I think I also have a book about the Queen Mother's doll house, which was a big one. I'm certain I saw it one time we visited Windsor Castle. Fantastic details there with furnishings provided by some UK companies if I remember correctly!
I think there’s a Royal doll house on display at the V&A and the details are incredible. I’ve heard of the Fairy Castle, but never actually seen it. I’m not sure if there will be another dollhouse for me after this one. That said, I found it pretty cheaply secondhand, and even though I’ve made some things “on the cheap”, it’s not exactly cheap to build and collect. Fun though.
That Library is incredible! The level of detail is absolutely astonishing. And it's a really beautiful way to bring the story to life... 😎
