Was Live: Writing A New Short Story

A Behind the Curtain recording from Leanne Shawler's live video

Thank you to everyone who tuned into my live video! I’m afraid it wasn’t all that exciting. I did a little show and tell of my latest read and my newest writing journal, and then we dove into a write-with-me as I worked on my newest short story coming out on Thursday (that’s Aussie time, we’re a day ahead).

Feel free to use this recording to write alongside me for about 30 minutes. That could be 30 minutes of writing you wouldn’t otherwise get done! You’ll get to hear the sounds of suburban Australia (mostly birds) as well as me complain about my pen.

I turned off the AI noise reduction because it weirdly—very weirdly—turned birdsong into people talking. Creepy.

I combined two sets of prompts to write this new tale that will appear in The Red Book of Rhiannon. Here they are for you to try!
