Thank you to everyone who tuned into my live video! I’m afraid it wasn’t all that exciting. I did a little show and tell of my latest read and my newest writing journal, and then we dove into a write-with-me as I worked on my newest short story coming out on Thursday (that’s Aussie time, we’re a day ahead).
Feel free to use this recording to write alongside me for about 30 minutes. That could be 30 minutes of writing you wouldn’t otherwise get done! You’ll get to hear the sounds of suburban Australia (mostly birds) as well as me complain about my pen.
I turned off the AI noise reduction because it weirdly—very weirdly—turned birdsong into people talking. Creepy.
I combined two sets of prompts to write this new tale that will appear in The Red Book of Rhiannon. Here they are for you to try!
Some highlights from video:
2:40 after the show and tell, sharing the prompts
6:44 actually starting the writing
7:20 complain about the pen
7:55 still complaining about the pen
9:30 reads out a line of the story
12:19 rambling a bit about dreigiau môr conversation method
12:45 realises I set the wrong timer
19:45 that screech was a red wattlebird (they sound like an angry chicken)
21:33 notices a new arrival and reexplains everything
28:05 five minute warning
31:44 plot point for book 4 appears!
33:05 time’s up
34:00 taking another look at the new short story journal
And that’s a wrap! Join me for my next live video in the app.
