No pressure! Just wanted to shout out my fave writers for those on my list who don’t write (and yes, dream a bit). Thanks for Restacking.

Oh man, this looks like so much fun! My schedule’s a little full right now, but the prompt is so enticing I might have to try — can’t promise though!

I have a feeling all my favourite writers are also very busy writers, but one can hope! Thank you for sharing it.

I might venture back into micro fiction for this. That one idea: of going to a place where all the old names are forgotten, replaced by some foreign people like the Vikings… chilling.

Forgotten names and peoples, perhaps only remembered in a snippet of story.

I'm in! This sounds fun. Going to do my background reading today. I arrived on the island a couple of days ago and haven't done any writing since ... I've got itchy typing fingers!

This sounds amazing! I don’t know if I’ll be able to get myself back into the writing zone in time to participate, but I would love to hype this up! Thank you so much for the mention, Leanne! ❤️

You’re welcome! With the new baby, I wasn’t expecting you to — but then the idea of Tim and Judith honeymooning popped into my head and I had to include you. Thanks for the restack!

OK, this setting is so very nearly my part of the world (different archipelago of Scottish islands, but in the grand scheme of things we have a lot in common with the Shetlands) that I might have to jump in. We'll see how things go, but if this month isn't too crazy I might be able to come up with something!

Here it is! This was rather fun, Leanne! Thanks for tagging me in this, I hope I met the assignment. It’s more a romantasy comedic vibe. Not sure why the muses went here but I just couldn’t get it out of my head.

This sounds great! It's a fun idea to have the contributions all set in the same world, so everyone can build up the mythology together, and add their own little spins to it. Good luck with it all... 😎👍

I’m in for this! Currently working on something that may accidentally blow out to a five part story 😅 such a cool prompt.

Here is the first part of my response to the prompt! It went in a different direction than I expected- sort of dark/horror fantasy. Hope you enjoy!

I’m not sure it’s what you were looking for but it was so much fun to break away and do something different. https://shannonhaynes.substack.com/p/a-star-stolen

Well, here's the link to my short story. I'm not really sure what the subgenre would be. It's written as letters and journal entries, so I guess make of that what you will :D https://waltshuler.substack.com/p/fitting-enough-for-the-thunder-god?r=fc9h5
