This serial began in response to the daily writing challenge of Smogust Story Hoard in August 2026. By day two, I knew I had serial on my hands.
The story is set mostly in the dreigiau môr (sea dragon) home of Caer Morgana, set during an indeterminate time period but before Maeve’s Chosen Court circa 500 AD, which was the last Chosen Court until Eidothea’s in 1814.
We first met Llallogan and his Chosen Court in The Stars Were Bright, another writing challenge serial (although in that case completely unplanned). This takes place before that serial, back when everyone was young and freshly inducted in the Chosen Court.

Glossary Recently, I found this old trunk in my attic. I have started this publication to share all that I have found within it. Spoiler: the first find is a diary from 1814. It’s magical. It’s full of hidden journaling and talks about sea dragons, or dreigiau môr.
