Last Monthly Digest of 2024!
Wherein I have a crazy idea while sharing looking ahead to 2025
Once again, this email might be truncated because it’s on the lengthy side. If you don’t see my sign-off at the bottom, come back to the top of the email and click the “View in Browser'“ link.
Fiction Released in December
A River Trembles
Book 2 of The Môrdreigiau Chronicles continued with Chapter
Other Fiction
I released not one, but two short stories. The first is a teaser into the dreigiau môr world of Obsidian and Flame (coming in 2025). The second features a secondary character (who I totally fell for) from A River Trembles, Emrys ap Cynfelyn, the Esteemed.
Episode 4 in Hiraeth, which turned into a two parter. The second part drops tomorrow, January 1st.
Retrospective on A Grail for Eidothea
I have been completely terrible at keeping up with reposting chapters into Notes, so if you haven’t started yet, take advantage of the New Year holidays and get started at the beginning.
Non-Fiction
A little light on the non-fiction this month as I’ve been trying to write three serials at a time and also, you know, have a life. But I did share some really great serial fiction for you to read:
What’s Ahead in 2025
Fiction
I will share more about this in early January, but here’s the most urgent, need to know information.
Hiraeth will be going on hiatus after January 1st’s episode. When I finish Obsidian and Flame, this monthly series will make a return. Why? I’ve discovered it’s really difficult to write three serials at the same time. One always has to take precedence and lately that’s been bouncing between Hiraeth and Obsidian and Flame. A Sword for Wellington (book three of The Môrdreigiau Chronicles) has been getting the short straw but we do need to see what happens with Eidothea and her friends and how it connects to the Duke of Wellington, the battle of Waterloo, and you know, the impending apocalypse.
My current goal is to finish Obsidian and Flame (or at least get to a really good stopping point, famous last words), then return to writing A Sword for Wellington.
At the absolute latest, Hiraeth will make a return at the start of May. There’s a very big story decision we need to make. It promises to be a lot of fun either way and um … gosh, do we want to actually split it into two separate timelines and story threads? Is this a crazy idea? (Stop thinking aloud, Leanne!) You’ll see tomorrow, but if you don’t have a Substack account, please weigh in via an email to me.
And that’s a wrap for 2024!
