I don’t think she’s actually mentally capable of taking the throne beyond her sitting on it during the trial. A new Esteemed is chosen by election, even if that election gets dominated by one family. I’m sure one of the other leading families of the Caer will step up with a candidate … Or perhaps it’s a chance for the Council to take more power from the Esteemed.

She was always awful. The unhinged is new — and who knows maybe Arddun’s effect on people is temporary. Cynwal may yet come around.
